We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a Special School in Westcliff-on-Sea. This full-time contract role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with complex needs and providing a nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.

 

As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students. You will work closely with support staff to ensure students are given the appropriate care and support to meet their social, emotional, and academic goals. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional development and is perfect for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in special education.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons designed to meet the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to provide a structured and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet learning goals.
  • Support students in developing both academic and social skills.
  • Communicate regularly with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in teaching SEN students is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
