An exciting opportunity hasarisen for forward thinking Registered Nurses to join our nursing team at HavenCourt.

We are an 80-bedded, purposebuilt facility providing a comprehensive range of services. This includes longterm residential and nursing care services, reablement and respite services,day services and a range of health and social care services for older people.We are also proud to announce the recent opening of the Cedar Unit which offers6 dedicated end of life beds/palliative care beds.

Haven Court provides afriendly caring environment for older people, where they are treated withrespect, courtesy and dignity. Our professional team of staff have put theneeds of the service users and their carers first whilst fully involving themin their care planning.

Main duties of the job

Working under the direction ofthe Registered Manager and Deputies, the successful candidate will oversee theeffective delivery of the service on a daily basis, liaise with families andother agencies and represent the best interests of the residents within thenursing and residential units. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you willprovide personalised, high quality and safe care whilst being involved inhelping to shape services and future developments. You should be able todemonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will besupported in your development and further learning opportunities are available..

Youwill be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to meet therequirements of the shift pattern which includes a combination of long days,earlies, lates and rotation onto nightshift. The roster covers 7 days of theweek, 24 hours per day. Full time, part time and flexible working is available

Job responsibilities

PLEASE REFER TO THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FURTHER DUTIES OF THE ROLE.

Develop and evaluate care plans which providequality of life for individual service users in conjunction with the statutorycontract with the referring agency and Care Plan, and ensuring compliance withcare programmes

Be integral to the assessment of need of aservice user in conjunction with relevant professional agencies and, whereappropriate, the family

Effectively manage service user flow and roomcapacity to ensure the service is able to meet the needs of any prospectiveservice user

Ensure that service users medication are held,stored and administered in accordance with company policies, prescriptions andcare plans

Ensure the quality provision of care which mayinclude end of life care, in partnership with GPs and in consultation withvisiting Professionals

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

1st level registration as Registered Nurse Experience in the care of older people and those with dementia. Demonstrable leadership experience Practical experience of implementing and ensuring a person centred care Ability to initiate action and operate independently Ability to exercise sound judgement think analytically and apply problem solving techniques. Effective communication skills Significant knowledge of current national policies & agenda relating to social care Significant knowledge of infection control IT skills able to use Microsoft office Demonstration of on-going professional development
