The role

To deliver high quality training support (maintenance) on specific mechanical & electrical training equipment in line with Company standards & contractual requirements.

To deliver Maintenance Instruction on specific Military diving equipment.

Main Tasks:

To be responsible for the maintenance of the Clearance Diver Life Support Equipment (CDLSE) to standards laid down in the Planned Maintenance Schedules (PMS), to record the maintenance carried out, report all defects, material shortcomings and design deficiencies on such equipment. To be responsible for the replacement, issue, storage, return and defect repair on all CDLSE equipment. To instruct CDLSE maintenance in accordance with relevant Instructional Specifications. To assist Senior Instructor (local) in updating training documentation, related to their primary subject, to reflect equipment maintenance. To instruct courses, iaw ISpec, for which SQEP is held, as directed by Senior Instructor (local). To gain and maintain both technical and instructional qualification and experience in secondary subjects as directed by Line Management. To gain and maintain instructional SQEP in accordance with company guidelines and policy. To be custodian of Permanent Loan Record (PLR). Deliver briefings to staff or trainees as required by Line Management. Ensure that the maintenance of all authority Team Fisher Training Equipment is carried out to enable equipment performance standards to be met and the training programme maintained. Record the implementation of equipment maintenance on existing systems, to ensure performance is maintained in accordance with manufactures technical guidance. To ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are always implemented and complied with for all employees and trainees. This job description does not limit the work that can be undertaken by the job holder. To ensure maximum flexibility and reflect the Company’s evolving needs, the job holder may be asked to perform additional tasks that may be reasonably expected within their level of capability. 

Essential:

Servicing mechanical/electrical equipment in a marine and/or military environment. Fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical equipment. Maintenance of Diving Equipment or similar Safety to Life Equipment. Qualified to undertake maintenance of CDLSE Qualified academically or vocationally to a minimum of ONC or equivalent in relevant subject matter. Knowledge of how to use Maintenance Management Systems, specifically UMMS

Desirable

Level 4 Teaching Qualification. ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.

Work Culture

37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements.
