Financial Controller

consolidationof financial data and to assist the Business Director in theeffective management of an
organisations finances. Our Financial Controller will play a key role in thedevelopment and
maintenanceof financial controls processes and systems and ensure that theseare in line with
statutoryrequirements.
Our Financial Controller will act as a valuable link between acompany s financial and leadership
team;therefore they must have strong communication skills. They need toclearly communicate
financialinformation to senior leadership and must have the ability to buildstrong relationships with
keystakeholders. The successful Financial Controller candidate willhave various prerequisite skills
andqualifications that typically include thefollowing.
Requirements
Using financial modelling to simulate potentialscenariosPerforming financial analysis on the company to predict financialhealth
Monitoring spending and creating budgets
Preparing company reports for P&L s and accountancyreviews
Finding ways to reduce costs and increaseprofits
Collaborating with management to create fundingstrategies
Ensuring adherence to national and international financialregulations
Analysing company budgets to compile financialreports
Analysing existing financial systems and procedures within acompany and providing
recommendationsfor improvements
Compiling financial data and producing financial graphs from theresults
Keeping up to date on the latest markets trends and economicnews
Staying informed of financial regulations and legalities andworking within them
A practical understanding of management accounting principles andtechniques
Sound knowledge of standard accountancy and finance bestpractices
Solid IT skills including proficiency in the relevant accountingpackages
Strong analytical skills to effectively analyse financialreports
Indepth knowledge of budgeting and financialforecasting
Minimum of 3 years experience within a similarrole.
Understand utilities sector desirable
Ideally educated to degree level in accounting economics finance ora related field. A master s
qualificationsuch as a master s in business administration (MBA) or a master sdegree in accounting
isdesirable as this level of education provides indepth andspecialist knowledge in key areas.
A member of one of the following professional bodies theAssociation of Chartered Certified
Accountants(ACCA) Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or theInstitute of
CharteredAccountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
Strong skills in MS Office; specifically PowerPoint Word &Excel
Experience reporting into director level/ senior leadershipteams.
