We are looking for a confident and welcoming Assistant Sommelier to join
our exceptional
front of house team at our beautiful Michelin
starred Restaurant at Hambleton Hall in Rutland, Oakham LE15 8TH.

Hambleton
Hall in Rutland has held a Michelin star for more than Forty years and its wine
list (curated by owner Tim Hart) has won many awards.

Our Head
sommelier expects to retire in a couple of years in post and is looking for an
assistant who might succeed him. A genuine interest in wine, organizational
talent and ability to communicate are the most important qualities we seek.

The Assistant Sommelier

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role at a
  High-quality Bar or Restaurant
• A kind, efficient and confident team player
• Good knowledge of
  our menus, ingredients, and allergens
• Consistently
  maintain the highest standards and deliver exceptional guest service
• Communicate effectively and confidently supervise
  our team
• Managing cycle of
  service and exceeding guest expectations
• Strong team ethic showing respect for your
  colleagues

Requirements for the role

• Strong command of English language
• Right to work in the UK
• Ability to cover weekends, evenings and public holidays

Getting to Hambleton Hall

We are
based on the beautiful Hambleton Peninsula above Rutland
Water, there is no train or bus service close to the hotel.

We have a limited number of rooms
available to rent in our Staff Accommodation.

Having a car is a bonus, as all
our employees are required to commute to and from our hotel
