About the role

The National Finance Office (NFO) are hiring a Treasury Assistant to join their team. The purpose of this role is to ensure the NFO function meets its banking and cashflow requirements, looking after our office and client accounts and supporting the team with projects and other ad hoc tasks.

About the company and department 

The National Finance Office is a team of approximately 80 people, split over various locations. They are responsible for supporting the firm with all financial aspects of the day to day running, including supplier payments and expenses, payroll, commercial finance support and financial and statutory accounting to name a few.
The Corporate Reporting team in which this role resides is responsible for the firm’s deposits profile, debt, cashflow and reporting.

About the job and responsibilities

The focus of this role is to support the Treasury team. Responsibilities of the role include various tasks covering governance of office and client accounts, examples being but not limited to:

Preparing and distributing the daily cashflow report. Bank reconciliation of all office accounts and following up with relevant teams on discrepancies and outstanding items. Daily posting of bank transactions into the accounting ledger. Daily posting of the fee receipts into the accounting ledger and working with the credit control team to enhance the process. Liaising with credit-card holders for coding of the monthly statements and posting the journals. Complete the Borrowings reconciliation, track that the firm’s debt are paid on time and ensure all treasury – balance sheet reconciliations are completed and signed off. Assist with streamlining of banking, , having the required number of bank accounts, automation of bank reconciliations, monitoring bank charges & foreign exchange. Responding to emails that come to the treasury inbox and sorting correspondences for treasury that arrive via post. Assist with wider treasury projects and process improvements. Ensure process notes are up-to-date and are of high quality. Provide cover for client money transactions and reconciliations when required. Completing tasks and expectations in line with Treasury SLA. Ensuring online banking is operating effectively and that accesses are provided correctly with the right levels of cover across roles. Being a point of contact with the banks for operational matter and queries and maintaining good working relations overall. 

In addition, you will be required to liaise with other departments within RSM to ensure processes are being followed, therefore you will need good communication skills and will develop a strong knowledge of our internal functions to gain the insight and knowledge to produce high quality management information.

About the ideal candidate 

We are looking for someone who is keen on starting their career in treasury and would like to pursue accounting/ treasury qualifications such as ACCA, AAT, ACT.

The candidate should be organised and methodical in their approach, with a good eye for detail who is enthusiastic and a team player.

The candidate should be adaptable to change, thorough, flexible, and resilient whilst remaining accurate and helpful whilst working under pressure. 

Excellent communication skills and being comfortable with computer systems including Excel is important.

Requirements 

Proficient in Excel (understanding of pivot tables, vlookup, sumif etc.) Excellent interpersonal skills - able to deal with people at all levels Self-motivated and able to show initiative Analytical in nature and able to ask the right questions.  Experience of Microsoft Great Plains, ideal but not essential
