Main duties of the job

Be part of the Pharmacy team providing aclinical and ward-based medicines management service to clinical areas withinthe directorate.

Liaise with and train nursing, medicaland pharmacy staff regarding medication management issues and the safe use orstorage of medication, including PODs.

Become an accredited MedicinesManagement Technician, or complete reaccreditation in order to transfer skillswhere appropriate.

Work with the ward team to ensure safestorage of medicines at ward level, including temperature checks andappropriate storage of controlled drugs.

Work as part of the dispensary team tofacilitate the efficient and effective discharge of patients from theirclinical area out of the hospital environment by participation in thedispensary rotas, including a minimum of 25% of time providing daily dispensarysupport.
