Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Oncology/Haematology nurse to join our Oncology/Haematology Acute Oncology team on a permanent contract, as a band 6 Acute Oncology CNS.

Main duties of the job

The acute oncology service supports newly diagnosed cancer patients and patients with a cancer of unknown primary. You will work cross site and work independently as well as part of a team. You will also work with and support the Oncology/Haematology Helpine team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

RGN Teaching Qualification

Desirable

Post Grad qualification in oncology/palliative care

Experience

Essential

Considerable experience of working in oncology / haematology nursing services Ability to demonstrate understanding of audit.

Desirable

Experience in service development/change management. Implementation of audit findings and outcome reviews.

Training

Essential

Evidence of maintaining skills in assessment and management of acute oncology Demonstrate evidence of training around treatment regimens for acute oncology
