As part of our continued growth OCU Grouphave an exciting opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Advisor tojoin our existing team in South Wales.
In thisrole you will be responsible for supporting the developmentimplementation and management of the companys Safety HealthEnvironment and Quality systems. This role ensures compliance withlegal requirements and industry standards promotes a positivesafety culture and contributes to continuous improvement in SHEQperformance.
Duties andResponsibilities:
Organising:
- SHEQguidance / assistance to the Operational ManagementTeams.
- SHE Support for business bid teamssimple PQQs and tactical responses.
- Active rolewithin the set up and mobilisation of regional new contractsinstallations and acquisitions.
- Assisting inthe development of locally required risk assessments methodstatements and SHE plans including CDM Construction PhasePlans.
- Support role in the development andimplementation of SHE Management Systems for the broaderbusiness.
Planning andImplementing:
- Bevisible and known to the business operationssupported.
- Conducting suitable and effectiveSHEQ Compliance monitoring activities (audit / engagements) inBusiness / Region and tracking the completion of all correctiveaction.
- Support role SHEQ Compliance monitoringactivities for the broader business.
- Monitoringand tracking SHEQ compliance information (lead and laggingindicators) in business / region for trends etc. highlightingconcerns and providing key support in the development andimplementation of improvement actions initiatives andplans.
- Provide feedback to the Subcontractorand Supplier SHEQ compliancedatabase.
- Undertake company inductions for newoperatives and staff members.
- Active role inthe development and publication of SHEcommunications.
- Involvement in workerconsultation through attendance at Project reviews worker groupsand SHEQengagements.
Audit andReview:
- Report onactivities local performance and improvement actions initiativesand plans regularly.
- Support role with theexternal accreditation and clientaudits.
- Support role at regional and depotlevel review meetings.
- Providing support foraccident / incident investigations in relation to regionalincidents.
- Tracking accident / incidentreports to ensure that all corrective actions and recommendationsare appropriate and are fullyimplemented.
- Taking a lead / impartial role ininvestigating serious / significant accidents andincidents.
- Liaising with management in relationto the notification of accidents / incidents and dangerousoccurrences.
Decisionmakingauthority:
- Empowered tostop or halt operations deemed to pose risk of significant healthsafety or environmental breaches and impose sanction or improvementaction accordingly.
- Works in support ofRegional Management teams to achieve good SHE performancestandards.
- Recommends solutions in respect ofsignificant SHEQ audit nonconformance or adverse accidentinvestigationfindings.
Skills andExperience:
BusinessKnowledge:
- Knowledgeand application of SHEQ management principles and best practicewithin an energy service / construction / manufacturing operationalarena.
EssentialFunctional / TechnicalSkills:
- NEBOSHCertificate or equivalent as a minimum. Associate / Tech / GradMember of IOSH and IEMA desirable.
- IT Skillscapable use of Microsoft Office software suit (word excel etc.) andability to interact with company systems.
- FullUK Driving Licence and willingness totravel.
