Level 2 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Opportunity, for a Home Group Customer / ex-customer

Full Time (37.5 hours per week) with flexible hours available

Fixed term 15 months (with progression into permanent opportunities available)

Hourly Pay between £8.60 to £11.44 (dependant on age)

Typical day as a Health and Social Care Apprentice

Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans. Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able. Contributing to support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too. In this role and you will learn lots by working at different days and times to get involved with different activities.

You’ll bring

Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail Experience of services like ours; you may have accessed a service like ours in the past and/or have experience of supporting other people on a voluntary basis Basic Microsoft Office Skills, Information Technology with a willingness to learn our electronic on-line systems and bespoke software Basic numeracy and literacy, ideally with a minimum Level 1 ability in English and Maths – to support you with your qualification, keeping records and support tasks The ability to remain calm under pressure, have a resilient approach, be observant and offer insightful ideas for encouraging our customers to achieve their personal goals And will recognise that every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs

Our team

You’ll join Angela’s team who are based at Huntingdon housing management service. We’re a close team of three who are super supportive and always have a smile and cup of tea ready each morning We are all animal lovers and are occasionally joined in the office by our four-legged members of the team, Vince, Layla and Sheba, with waggy tails waiting to greet you

Job details

Our award-winning apprenticeship programme has been designed to get our customers and colleagues on the career ladder (How awesome is that) Don’t be put off by the word apprentice as you can be any age to apply Your wage will be higher than the national apprenticeship minimum wage, so start planning what to spend that extra cash on You’ll be employed for a 15-month period to get stacks of experience and launch your career. You’ll start at level 2 with possible progression onto a level 3 Many of our apprentices secure a permanent role with us so who knows where you’ll end up in the future Flexible working hours (or we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you) It’s important you’re at work when our team are around to support you so, although hours of work are usually 9am-5pm, flexibility is important. You will have built in time (20% of your working week) for study and support for working towards your qualification
