Introduction

Material Planner, responsible for planning manufacturing work schedules into the production areas, reporting to the Operations Director

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain production job schedule in MRP in line with customer needs Establish strong relationships and provide world class levels of service to internal customers. Drive improved performance based on measurable KPIs. Identify opportunities to improve communications and processes both internally and externally Input and validation of demand and supply profile for Sales, Inventory, and Operations planning.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Core Requirements

· Plan, coordinate and control interdepartmental activity within CAM, quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, production and logistics to ensure acknowledged customer delivery dates are achieved 100% OTIF

· Maintain MRP to ensure alignment between material position and production capability/schedule (Sales order dates, job start dates, kit release etc)

· Review production orders for proper time keeping, material issue, and BOM accuracy.

· Ensure correct setting of MRP planning parameters

· Establish efficient planning production systems to reduce costs and improve efficiency;

· Supporting business Bid & Contract review processes by assessing optimal manufacturing batch sizes, and manufacturing times

· Accountable for meeting Job delivery and Inventory targets

Ensure accuracy of data within MRP system e.g. hours, operations, BOM, routing etc by highlighting any corrections required to engineering

Desireable Skills and Experience

· Persistence to drive task completion and results on time. 

· Effective cross-functional engagement 

· Confident in use of Lean tools and techniques 

· Dynamic, detail-oriented, and results-focused

· Project Management

· Analytical problem solver 

· High EQ 

· Effective prioritisation and time management 

· Experienced in Aerospace or similar industry.

· Extensive experience in working in low volume, high product mix, build-to-print environments and design to spec environments

· Excellent communication skills and demonstrable experience of effective negotiation and influencing skills for win-win outcomes.

· Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver against deadlines.

· Proactive change management experience

· A strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel is essential to this role.

· Ability to read and translate Engineering drawings and documentation 

· Task / Achievement focused 

· Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines .
