Cover Supervisor

Location: Rotherham (S61)

Salary: £95 to £120 per day, depending on experience

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/ Full-time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently collaborating with an outstanding school located in Rotherham that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support students across a variety of subjects and year groups.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students and ensuring a constructive learning environment in the absence of their regular teacher. This position involves managing classroom behaviour, delivering pre-prepared lessons and supporting students in their educational journey.

Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise students in a variety of subjects and year groups, ensuring a positive and orderly learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and addressing any issues appropriately.
  • Assist students with their work, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with teachers and school staff to ensure continuity of learning and adherence to school policies.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • Have previous experience in an educational setting.
  • Have an understanding and compassionate approach to helping the students.
  • A passion for supporting students' learning and development.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
