GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic primary schools in Sheffield.

Job summary:

  • Assist students with SEND in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Monitor and record the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant staff.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support and assistance to students with special educational needs and disabilities, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to implement individualized learning plans and accommodations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Help students develop essential skills, confidence, and independence in academic and social settings.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reporting to relevant persons as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities in primary settings.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education, teaching assistance, or related fields desirable.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Dedication to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
