The Role

As the Primary Care Occupational Therapy Service continues its expansion across all 10 localities there are further exciting opportunities for Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join the existing Lanarkshire Primary Care Occupational Therapy team.

The Primary Care Occupational Therapy service works to improve the health and well-being of patients, age 16 and over, with physical and mental health conditions that impact on their functioning. This may include people coping with the impact of long-term conditions, people experiencing difficulties at work/college or falls or frailty or those who may be socially isolated due to poor health and/or caring roles.

This Generalist Occupational Therapy role is an exciting and evolving area of practice of occupational therapy, offering assessment and intervention to a diverse range of patients.

Person-centred assessment, proactive clinical interventions, self-management strategies and supports are utilised to enable patients to manage their health and well-being and continue with their daily lives.

Providing our team with robust supervision procedures, staff supports, service wide training plans and tailored individual development opportunities are key to this.

In the Primary Care Occupational Therapy service, shared team values, staff well-being and development are integral in delivering our effective and quality service.

What we'll need you to bring

Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration Knowledge of application of the theory underpinning OT practice The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team Excellent time management skills Working knowledge of basic information technology

It would be great if you also have

OT Practice Education Course and experience as a student practice educator Previous voluntary or employment experience or research proposal/project relevant to the post Further education and CPD in relation to the post including relevant projects/research studies Basic knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures which impact on practice Supervision and appraisal skills Positive role modelling and leadership skills Flexible working patterns to meet the requirements of the post. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence.
