The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a commercially aware individual to join the Cornerstone Sales team as Key Account Manager. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for some of our most important accounts, including Tesco and ASDA, working across the range of books we publish, including some of the biggest commercial brands in the market. You’ll also work closely with the division to maximise commercial opportunities.

This role is open to applicants with a broad range of experience – you could be an account manager looking for a new challenge, working for a retailer, or someone with a passion for books who has experience of building relationships and data analysis looking for a career change.

The sales team is a small, tight team who work hard and enjoy celebrating their success together. We work very closely with our editorial, marketing and publicity colleagues to reach as many readers as possible for all our books. You’ll play a key role in our team and be commercially-focused in all that you do, curious about new opportunities and developments in the marketplace – and how we make those happen at Cornerstone.

We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, good at building working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and able to use and analyse data to inform sales strategy. You will need to be agile to capitalise on any sales opportunities, be proactive and motivated, and be keen to become an expert on your areas of the market to help inform future publishing strategies. Proven presentation skills, commercial acumen and sales analysis skills are also useful.
