Job Description:

GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health and Social Care Lecturer to join our vibrant team in Sheffield. As an integral part of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education in Health and Social Care, working closely with esteemed university partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programs within a Higher Education setting, focusing on the Foundation year in Health and Social Care.
  • Tutor students, offering tailored support to help them achieve their academic goals and progress positively.
  • Actively contribute to the development and continual improvement of courses, collaborating effectively with both staff and students.
  • Participate in the creation of module/unit-specific Scheme of Work.
  • Develop module materials for each of the modules being undertaken.
  • Provide, deliver, and facilitate subject-specific sessions in line with the Learning Outcomes and syllabuses of modules.
  • Deploy assessments appropriately as outlined by the assessment team.
  • Establish measures to understand the learning needs of students on their modules.
  • Support students with timely formative feedback as prescribed by each of the program specifications.
  • Mark and provide summative feedback within the prescribed deadline set by the Assessment Team.
  • Ensure compliance with the expectations of the Programme Specification of respective Awarding Bodies and Universities under which modules are being taught.
  • Produce appropriate module/unit reports.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Contribute to the School’s Research Department at the Holborn campus.

Essential Requirements:

  • Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area.
  • Teaching qualifications such as PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, or FHEA, etc.
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses at the Higher Education level.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Blackboard/VLEs, MS Teams, and Zoom.
