Main duties of the job

Undertake a variety of core duties to include conducting consultations face to face and telephone, examinations, diagnoses, necessary home visits and other administrative duties: prescriptions, results and correspondence. Provide treatment and referrals as necessary. Manage chronic conditions and acute illnesses. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. In summary the post-holder will be expected to undertake all of the normal duties and responsibilities associated as a General Practitioner working within Primary Care.

Dartmouth Medical Practice is a well-establishedtraining practice looking after in excess of 8300 patients in the gloriousSouth Hams, Devon. We are currently 9 GPsworking collaboratively with a supportive team of healthcare professionalsdedicated to excellence to include in-house Physiotherapist, Paramedic,Pharmacist and Social Prescriber.

Job responsibilities

To work as an autonomouspractitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practicepopulation, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complyingwith the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMCstandards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective managementof the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborativeworking relationship with the wider team.

Qualifications

Essential

Fully qualified General Practitioner with the appropriate regulatory bodies. Excellent communication and interpersonnel skills. Ability to work effectively in a team based environment. Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability. Commitment to delivering high quality, patient centred care.

Experience of working in a Primary Care environment.
