About the Role

The home's ethos is centred on nurturing meaningful relationships with young people and their families, guiding them as they transition into adulthood. We are seeking a Registered Manager who shares this commitment and can lead the day-to-day operations with passion and professionalism.

Main Purpose of Job

As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the daily management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care. You will lead a team dedicated to supporting the physical, psychological, emotional, and social development of young people, in compliance with relevant legislation and guidance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Service and Practice

  • Deliver High-Quality Care: Develop and implement care practices that align with Ofsted SCCIF and organisational policies.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all staff are well-trained and knowledgeable about Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records for young people and employees and implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Innovate Care Techniques: Promote new approaches in childcare and actively contribute to the senior team.
  • Meeting Leadership: Prepare for, attend, and chair internal and external meetings as required.
  • On-Call and Sleep-In Duties: Participate in on-call rotations and cover sleep-in shifts as needed.
  • Report Writing: Oversee all written communications, ensuring concise and evaluative reporting.
  • Decision-Making: Make critical decisions regarding the welfare of young people and staff.
  • Admissions & Discharges: Manage the admissions and discharges process for the home.

Human Resource Management

  • Recruitment: Participate in the recruitment process, ensuring all background checks are completed.
  • Staff Development: Oversee staff induction, supervision, and appraisal processes, promoting continuous professional development.
  • Rota Management: Maintain effective staff rotas and manage monthly expenses.
  • Handle Grievances: Investigate and resolve grievances, complaints, and disciplinary issues in accordance with organisational policies.

Management of Physical and Financial Resources

  • Budget Management: Monitor the service budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Premises Maintenance: Ensure service premises and equipment meet all necessary standards.
