About The Role

Morrison Energy Services  is recruiting for an  Industrial Electrician  to work on our  UK Power Networks  contract in  Hertfordshire.

As an Industrial Electrician you will be a part of our Substation Build Team who deliver capital programme works on UKPN's 11kV to 132kV Distribution Network, refurbishing and building new switchouses and transformer enclosures with associated switchgear, transformers and cabling. In this role you will be involved with the installation of ancillary and control equipment associated with the installation of High Voltage equipment.

Morrison Energy Services  is proud to be a key partner in the UKPN Alliance, delivering substation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.

What do we need from you?

To hold an NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline or completed an approved Apprenticeship To hold 18th Edition Wiring Regulations training certification To hold a full driver’s license Experience in Industrial Electrical & Control System Asset Installation Experience in using and interpreting electrical schematics and other relevant technical information Experience in installing & terminating multicores, Installing ladder & tray work, conduit & trucking installations, control and SCADA installations 

Have the ability to:

The ability to use and interpret electrical schematics, manuals, asset standards and other technical information to assist with Installations and remedial works Working in accordance with the company and customer safe systems of work and permit to work systems The ability to adapt and respond to unforeseen events and act accordingly The ability to plan and coordinate effectively without supervision If not known already a willingness to learn new skills i.e. Electrical fitting activities on High Voltage switch gear, transformers and associated equipment Installation of Control and protection equipment Installation of Earthing Systems Installation of outdoor equipment such as Bus Bar, Disconnectors and Switchgear Maintenance of High Voltage equipment Fault Finding on Low and High Voltage equipment Receiving High Voltage documents Supervision of movement of long objects in an open bar compound

Additional Information

You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools. You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.  You must also be able to work at height or within a confined space, without restriction You must live within the area advertised
