About The Role

We are looking to offer a Yard Person the opportunity to join our expanding Plant & Fleet Solutions Service team based in Castleford.

About the team

Our small team of 10 consist of a wide experience of Plant and Fleet Form Fitters to Parts Person, who carry out all aspects of repairs maintenance and compliance to our asset portfolio. Being a small team, we work as one to achieve the business goals and customer expectations.

About the role

This role is pivotal to the flow of work, be it cleaning asset, yard movements or assisting colleagues and are all part of the day to day role as a Yard Person.

As the Yard Person, you’ll get the opportunity to:

Ensure the yard area and workshop is kept clean and tidy Be responsible for parking of plant and vehicles in safe manor Prepare, minor repairs, painting & steam cleaning of plant and vehicles Carry out forklift usage in the yard and workshop Collect and deliver vehicles Work with the workshop staff for the movement and preparation of plant Facilitate 3rd party working on site by service providers Control external collections and deliveries within the yard Carrt out on site control of M Group Services contracts using yard area facility Ensure that all Safely, Healthy, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures are adhered to, adopting a safe method of working at all times What you’ll bring? Previous experience as a Yard Operative or a similar role The usage of steam cleaning equipment on plant and vehicles Vehicle valeting and general preparation for hire Driving license essential Fork Lift License 3 ton (Counter Balance) is desirable but training will be given Yard day to day marshalling and control Effective communication skills
