Job summary
We arelooking for an enthusiastic motivated and experienced Registered General Nurseto join our friendly and supportive semi-rural practice. The candidate musthave experience in the management of respiratory chronic disease. Experience inchildhood immunisation and cytology would be beneficial and previous employmentin Primary Care would be desirable.

Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard ofnursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to thedoctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normallyundertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between thenurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training /regulations.
About us
We are a dynamic, supportivetraining practice. The clinical team currently consists of 6 GPs (2 GPPartners), a nurse practitioner, practice nurses and HCAs. We have an excellentteam of dispensers, receptionists and administrative staff.
We are members of the NorthCornwall Coast Primary Care Network and work very closely with our neighbouringpractices providing a Social Prescriber, MentalHealth Care Practitioners, Pharmacist, Paramedic and First ContactPhysiotherapist.

Job responsibilities
Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes to promote health and well-being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well-being Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with a known long-term condition Identify, and manage as appropriate, treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side effects and interactions Support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs Support and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultations Recognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs in accordance with the National / Local guidelines for Mental Health Advise, support and, where appropriate, administer vaccinations for patients travelling abroad Promote and deliver evidence-based care for patients presenting with aural conditionsOfferadvice about childhood and adult vaccinations and ensure vaccines areadministered under patient group directions

Ableto document consultations according to NMC guidelines
Ensureawareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, includingsystems of referral. Ability to recognise signs and symptoms of child abuse
Providea holistic approach to wound management and implement wound care in line withcurrent evidence based guidelines
Ableto recognize and manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines
Ableto perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current UK guidelines
Assistin the provision of minor surgery
Abilityto obtain and document informed consent (either verbal or written)
Ensureinfection control guidelines are maintained
Abilityto monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment
