Job summary

Youwill need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order toestablish strong working relationships with colleagues, junior doctors, medicalprofessionals and other NHS staff to provide support and advice to all studentsand Doctors in Training, as well as producing high quality training programmesin conjunction with the clinical teaching team.

Main duties of the job

To support high qualityadministration processes across the Trust in accordance with agreed priorities,which ensure the delivery of Foundation and Specialty Training Programmes, inorder to support trainees and trainers in the delivery of education andtraining, to support the terms of the Junior Doctor Contract (2016).

To support the work of theGuardian of Safe Working, Tutors and Trainers associated with the delivery ofthe Junior Doctor Contract (2016) and the management of associated committeesand their administration, quality assurance developments, primary care meetingsand the local Junior Doctors Forum.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Workwith the Medical Education Team to ensure that electronic rotas are availablefor all Doctors in Training in Care Groups linked to their Curricular andtraining requirements.

Support the administrationprocesses linked to the monthly KPIs programme for compliant rotas, qualityassurance, allocation of resources and committee support for the delivery ofhigh quality, safe medical education in clinical areas, for all doctors intraining.

Cover the geographical areaoverseen by the Medical Education Department that is, County Durham andDarlington NHS Foundation Trust and to develop appropriate links working inpartnership with Newcastle Medical School, Health Education England North East(HEE NE), Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust and local general practitioners.

Requiredto travel to all Trust sites.

Qualifications

Essential

5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A C or equivalent

Experience

Confident administrator Excellent communication skills

Experience in an educational environment Experience within Medical Education

Special Skills and Knowledge

Fast accurate keyboard skills Excellent organisational skills Ability to multi-task Ability to work under pressure to difficult deadlines Excellent IT skills and ability to use MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
