Title:Lead Azure Platform Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and passionate azure cloudengineer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible forbuilding scalable solutions in the Azure Platforms for our Data& Analytics Platform. You may be expected to lead a team ofjunior engineers towards successful delivery of engineeringsolutions. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technicalskills and leadership ability with the communication and teamworkskills to collaborate with other members of the IT team.Note that this is not a traditional Data Engineeringjob. We build platforms and solutions that enable DataEngineers & Scientists accomplish business goals.


Typical Duties &Responsibilities:

  • Manageand administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment includingprovisioning configuration performance monitoring policy governanceand security.
  • Design develop and implementhighly available multiregion solutions within MicrosoftAzure
  • Analyze existing operational standardsprocesses and/or governance to identify and implementimprovements.
  • Engage in conducting Proof ofConcepts of various vendor solutions and present finalrecommendations.
  • Migrate existinginfrastructure services to cloudbased solutions.
  • Manage security and access controls of cloudbasedsolutions.
  • Develop infrastructure as code(IaC) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated andconsistent platform deployments.
  • Develop andimplement policy driven data protection best practices to ensurecloud solutions are protected from data loss.
  • Support cloud adoption of applications as they are beingtransformed and/or modernized.
  • Ensure allinfrastructure components meet proper performance and capacitystandards.
  • Participate in an oncall rotationto address and resolve technical escalations.

Required Skills andExperience

  • 4 years ofMicrosoft Azure experience involving design deploymentconfiguration and optimization.
  • 6 years ofexperience with IaaS and PaaS solutions
  • Experience in the design and operation of medium to largescale enterprise infrastructure databases and applicationsystems
  • Experience working within an Agileframework.
  • Experience in IaC development withTerraform Azure CLI Puppet and Ansible
  • Experience scripting with Python and AzurePowerShell.
  • Experience with Windows Linux VMsnetworking routing & firewalls
  • Experiencewith Azure services such as ADF Logic Apps AKS ADLSetc..
  • Proficient with GIT ADO to performsource code management.
  • Experience withTerraform Cloud and Azure DevOps
  • Experiencewith Jira and ServiceNow
  • Competence in a widerange of IT skills including networking systems administration dataprotection information security and CI/CD tooling.
  • Enthusiastic learner with the ability to teach and mentorteammates and cross functional partners.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbalwith a keen attention to detail
