- Receive all calls overnight, working with the nursing team and provide either advice or a consultation as necessary. Reception staffing is provided until 22:00 and again from 08:00.
- Record all owner contact to ensure the best continued care for the patients in and out of the practice both within Swayne and Partners and at the primary care practices.
- Care for inpatients throughout the night actively, adjusting treatments and carrying out diagnostics and procedures as necessary, charging accordingly.
- Confirm plans for the following day by writing patient kennel sheets and adjusting medications accordingly.
- Contact inpatient owners overnight as necessary and contact all inpatient owners in the morning to update them on their animals progress and plan.
- Support with providing a handover to the morning inpatient vet as and when required.
We are proud of our out of hours service and work hard to provide the best level of care, tailored to our clients and patients, with knowledge and compassion.
