Job summary

Deputy ward Manager for a male acute mental health inpatient ward.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to develop and learn under the the support of a newly formed management team on Brook Ward, to help drive positive changes and operational support to the ward manager and greater senior team.

This is a challenging role in a fast paced environment for an experienced dynamic band 5 who wants to make a difference and develop into that next leader. You will be part of the senior nurses on the ward and helping with the operational tasks such as sickness management, rostering and governance in regard to audits compliance and IPC.

You will be supporting the site with the DSN on site and expected to work full rotation of days and nights.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Acute Male Mental Health for a highly motivated individual to join our amazing team of nurses and AHP's who are passionate about the care and treatment of the service users on our ward.

The successful candidate must have drive and enthusiasm to lead on service improvements and ensure the delivery of safe and effective person-centred care.

This role is one that is part in the numbers and part supernumerary to support the ward manager. The ward senior nurse team are seen as a the leaders for the ward and as such you will be required to support HR processes and be part of the team who are striving to develop a strong team of nurses who are working to support our patients.

The successful candidate will work with the team on the ward driving the quality and safety agendas and have the perfect opportunity of taking on leadership responsibilities along side maintaining clinical compliance within their role as a primary nurse.

Person Specification

1 year min experience of band 5

Essential

Has experience working as Band 5 nurse Able to give examples of leadership opportunities taken Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties Safeguarding

Desirable

Has experience in a adult inpatient unit. Desire to develop with evidence of experience
