Job Description

What will you be doing? 

As a Mechanical Structural Engineer, you will join our team in Derby/Warrington to support our activities within the Energy (Nuclear) sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Design and engineer metal structures, skid structures, and mechanical modules in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct structural analyses and calculations to ensure the integrity and safety of designed structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate structural designs into larger project frameworks.
  • Participate in design reviews to evaluate and refine concepts, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Develop detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for construction and installation.
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities, effectively managing workload and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both internal and external, to address inquiries and resolve issues.

  • Proficiency in formal English report writing
  • Versatile experience in structural design (e.g., cranes, lifting equipment, naval, frames)
  • Exposure to full design process from concept to verification
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a hybrid working environment in Derby or Warrington

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-15 years of experience in mechanical structural design engineering.
  • Proven track record of designing metal structures, skid structures, and mechanical modules.
  • Experience in conducting structural analyses and calculations.
  • Exposure to project management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
