Banbury Alliance PCN is looking for a qualified, registered NurseAssociate to join the nursing team working at Hightown Surgery.

Our Nurse Associate should have general practice experience and a breadth of knowledge across the fields of nursing. They will work independently under the leadership of registerednurses and be part of our highly valued, supportive team of 3 nurses, an HCA and a phlebotomist. We are particularly looking for someone who is already trained in smear taking and simple dressings, as part of this varied and interesting role. We have enjoyed having a Nurse Associate for the last year who has taken up a new role within the PCN and are excited to now be able to offer this post on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job

You will be an accountable professional putting people first and provide nursing carethat is person centred, safe and compassionate. Promoting health and preventing ill health, you will support people to improve and maintain theirmental, physical, behavioural health and wellbeing.

You will provide compassionate, safe and effective careand support to people, monitoring the condition and health needs of patients in your care and contribute to ongoing assessment, recognisingwhen it is necessary to refer to others for reassessment.

Banbury Alliance PCN is a network of three partnershippractices, serving 30,000 patients inOxfordshire. Hightown is the largest practice with a list size of 12,300. You will be working in the one practice, with the advantages that brings of getting to know everyone and quickly becoming very much part of the nursing team, integrated within our friendly, high-achieving, training practice.

Our catchment area is the market town of Banbury andsurrounding villages. Banburyis a fast expanding area, with a recent, town-centre,canal-side development. It has excellent sporting and cultural facilities,transport links and schools (state and independent) and yet sits in an area ofstunning, accessible countryside.

We areteam-orientated, patient-focused, Training practice with a strong, multi-disciplinary team, GP & pharmacy trainees and a largely appreciative patient population.

Qualifications

Essential

Holder of the two-year Foundation Degree delivered by a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) approved provider Registered with the NMC as a Nurse Associate

Desirable

Ability to work on own initiative Ability to participate in reflective practice and supervision activities Understand evidence based practice Understanding of basic physiology normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements Evidence of involvement of support/development of less experienced staff Evidence of recent work-based learning or self-directed learning
