Job overview

The Acute and Rehabilitation Directorate (ARD) are inviting applications from skilled, knowledgeable and committed individuals to provide operational and clinical leadership to the service as modern matron. The directorate is made up of services which include adult, older adults and CAMHS inpatient wards; Integrated assessment hub and HBPoS.

Applicants are expected to have recent experience of working in acute mental health inpatient services at band 7 or above .

You will work closely with the Senior ARD leadership to deliver the Directorate's clinical governance and quality improvement agenda and to promote partnership working with other agencies.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing management and leadership to ensure the safe, effective operational and clinical running of the Acute Mental Health Division of Acute and Rehabilitation Directorate (ARD), ensuring effective clinical delivery and performance management against key performance indicators and financial targets.

Work collaboratively with other disciplines (ward medics, LT, estates, etc) to ensure safe delivery of services . Note that flexibility will be expected of successful candidates to also cover shifts that will support the effective provision of services within the Directorate .

You will be someone who enjoys working flexibly alongside clinicians to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient centred care that meets the needs of service users and their families/carers who are accessing our services. The role involves providing leadership in care delivery, incident prevention and management. You will be working closely with the bleep holder/site manager, duty doctors and a host of other professionals to ensure consistent care is delivered across the 24 hours period.

The post holder will work with the leadership team to deliver the vision of the Trust to provide quality service, which is best care through best people.

The post holder will be expected to lead on incident management, including resuscitation drill & should be prepared to undergo relevant training to support in the delivery of these responsibilities.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High-Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436).
