Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a strong desire to support students with special educational needs? If so, GSL Education has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team for an alternative education provider as a Behaviour Support Assistant at one of our special schools in Hackney

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide tailored support to students with behavioural and emotional needs.

Responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Assist in creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with students, as needed.
  • Help with the development and implementation of individual support plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to provide holistic support to students.

Requirements for the Behaviour Support Assistant role :

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A patient, calm, and caring nature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be joining a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality education and support to students with additional needs. We offer both part-time and full-time positions, giving you the flexibility to choose a role that suits your lifestyle.
