Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality,evidence-based registered dental care in the relevant clinic(s) in a securesetting.

You will ensureclinical care is delivered in-line with the NHS Personal Dental Services contractand local service specifications and key performance indicators, andin-accordance with relevant national quality standards.

You will practice in-line with organisational and local clinicalgovernance processes, working collaboratively with the wider local prison /secure healthcare teams (to include healthcare managers, GPs, and secondary care),to support effective management of acute dental conditions, continuing care,and external referrals.

You will maintain up to date clinical knowledge, in-linewith Enhanced CPD and relevant national standards, and the requirements of theorganisation and job role.

You will practice in accordancewith BDAStandards of service and conduct, FGDP(UK) Standards in Dentistry and Time forTeeth organisational standards of conduct and performance, and Time for Teethpolicies and procedures.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide a high standard dental care through direct clinical caseload.

Work effectively and collaboratively with widerhealthcare colleagues.

Specifically, respond to support and direction providedby the clinical supervisor.

Work effectively with internal colleagues, to support thedelivery of effective clinical care in-line with clinical governance processes.

Contribute to the periodic review and analysis of serviceperformance.

Escalate performance concerns and clinical risks,ensuring reporting in accordance with relevant requirements.

Assist in incidents and complaints handling.

Carry out any other dutieswithin the general scope of the post as directed by the Clinical Director.

Experience

Essential

NHS Primary Care experience GDS/PDS services Understanding of clinical audit, and clinical governance Understanding of the relationship between confidentiality and security
