About The Role

Purpose of the role Responsible for the strategic growth, profitability, and operations of the short-term rental fleet within SFS business (known as the CTS division). Maximising the vehicle availability and utilisation, whilst ensuring all areas are operationally efficient, have safe working practices and repairs are turned around in the most cost conscious but speed efficient way, whilst achieving a first-class customer experience. Duties and responsibilities Manage a diverse team of people, developing, coaching and providing leadership Maximise vehicle availability, and utilisation of the fleet and ensuring full adherence to the rental processes Delivering and expanding the business through fleet customer and infrastructure growth Ensure consistent and accurate delivery of rental vehicles following correct procedures Developing strategic plans, maintaining ongoing awareness of market conditions and future developments required Responsible for ensuring the rental fleet is 100% compliant Delivering operational efficiencies and the highest level of customer satisfaction To ensure processes and procedures are implemented, followed and maintained by all workshop staff who inspect, maintain and repair vehicles for customers and the Hire fleet and provide technical support to workshops in order to ensure we meet our service level agreements with customers To develop the operations so as to continually improve service levels for customers and win repeat business To cooperate with other operational areas within SFS to effectively share resources where necessary with the overall benefit of the Group in mind To ensure the CTS teams embrace a positive Health and Safety culture To provide support in determining priorities for the Workshop, Hire Department and Service Desk To manage the workshops so that they operate efficiently, prioritise effectively and ensure the service and repair of vehicles meet the required standards to pass MOT tests first time and are proactively maintained in the most cost effective manner To ensure that all personnel on site are effectively managed, display high level of professionalism and are sufficiently trained to carry out their responsibilities effectively including managing staff through the Group’s annual performance process attendance management is utilised where appropriate To support tender and new business opportunities where required

Skills Essential Proven Managerial and leadership skills An ability to motivate a team to effectively work together to achieve the business objectives High level of Health and Safety awareness with an ability to ensure compliance in others Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to problem solve through most effective use of resources available A thorough understanding of commercial (heavy) and municipal vehicles High level of computer skills including the Microsoft product Experience in developing rental operations Desirable IOSH Managing Safely qualification VOSA HGV Inspection qualification HGV Apprentice served qualification HGV Class 2
