- Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote emotional well-being and mental health awareness.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student behaviour, interventions, and progress for use in multi-disciplinary meetings and safeguarding purposes.
- Provide support during off-site activities and school trips to ensure the safety and inclusion of SEMH students.
Essential Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

- Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and interventions, including behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach, with the ability to stay composed in challenging situations.
- Experience in implementing de-escalation techniques and managing behavioural crises.
- A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Childcare, Mental Health, or a related field is desirable (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Mental Health First Aid).
