The University boasts a high profile teaching, research and development role within the UK and abroad. Together we are training the next generation of medical professionals. Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for a full time (40 hours a week and also will participate in the out of hours rota) post in Cardiothoracic Surgery based at the University Hospital of Llandough/University Hospital of Wales. The unit undertakes all types of adult cardiac surgery including off-pump coronary surgery, complex mitral valve surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery & major surgery on the thoracic aorta including endovascular procedures and surgery for some adults with congenital heart disease. These posts provide an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and would be ideal for International candidates wishing to consolidate their knowledge through working in the UK. All posts are for one year with a possibility of extension thereafter. Cardiff and Vale UHB is one of the largest health boards in the UK and is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services. While these posts will not be recognised for postgraduate training they will take place in a teaching environment with ample learning opportunities.
