Exciting opportunities have arisen at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust for dynamic, innovative, committed and highly skilled individuals to assist in the leadership of our Vascular (10E ward) Teams.
You must be a Registered Nurse with demonstrable commitment to your own professional development and experience of managing a ward / unit. Previous experience as a band 5 nurse who has been supervising and leading a team is highly desirable. You will be committed to developing professional competence and helping to build skills portfolios through experiential learning and education to maximize career prospects of each team member.
10E (Vascular Ward): Is dedicated beds for the management and care of vascular patients. This will involve close MDT working for patients requiring urgent and emergency vascular procedures.
Nurses working on this ward will have expert knowledge in assessment of vascular system, complex wound management, care of cancer patients, management of vascular conditions and effective patient flow.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for enthusiastic nurse leader with a wide range of vascular and surgical experience who will use there initiative to improve service delivery. We need an individual who are willing to adapt and work with the vascular team to ensure we the patients are at the heart of any changes or new development. Our practice development nurses and vascular nurse specialists provide support and have established educational programme for the training needs of the department.
The team structure brings together a wide range of experience including ward manager, Senior nurse Matron, Senior Sister, an extended nursing team including Band 7, band 6 and band 5 and band 2 healthcare support workers. We also offer a structured programme which is underpinned by workplace competency assessments and activities that will guide you achieve your own personal and professional learning needs.
