Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB as we are seeking to recruit 2 exceptional Nurse Leaders to undertake the role of Lead Nurse .

1 x Lead Nurse vacancies within Community Services - 1 x Lead Nurse vacancy within Community Hosptials and HMP Parc

The post holder is responsible in conjunction with the Head of Nursing for the quality and patient experience of services within the appropriate care group ensuring optimum standards of patient care are met and aligned to the principles of Value Based Healthcare.

The post holder will lead on a portfolio of work identified by the Head of Nursing or Care Group Nurse Director, with a focus on quality improvement and innovation, care standards, learning and patient experience across the care group supported by the Senior Nursing Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a key senior member of the care group working closely with the management team, playing a key role in the, development of services and service improvement to include Health & Social care integration. The post holder will have a key responsibility for the delivery of the Quality agenda within the care group.

The post holder will provide nursing leadership and expert nursing advice and will work closely with the Head of Nursing and Care Group Nurse Director to ensure that a high standard of patient care is delivered.

The post holder will lead nursing practice in collaboration with the Head of Nursing or Care Group Nurse Director and will be expected to develop innovative practice in relation to the provision of nursing services to patients. The post holder will be expected to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and external partners.

The post holder will be required to support the Head of Nursing, Care Group Nurse Director and Clinical Director to deliver the Clinical Governance programme for the Directorate in line with the Health Board's Quality and Patient Safety Governance Framework (2022).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential

Comprehensive knowledge of Professional and NHS issues and policy and the ability to interpret policy at a local level. Professional nursing registration applicable to area of practice. Evidence of further study/knowledge, experience and skills at Master's Level or equivalent. Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality. Comprehensive knowledge of the NHS national targets and priorities. Management qualification, and/or Recruitment and Selection, Appraisal and other HR/People Management related training. Understanding of the UHB objectives and priorities and the ability to work across operational and Local Authority boundaries. Evidence of current CPD. Significant relevant leadership/management role in a large complex healthcare organisation. Significant post registration clinical experience. Experience in leading and managing staff. Experience of clinical audit/R&D processes and practice. Experience in strategy and policy development.

Desirable

Masters or equivalent qualification specific to a clinical specialty. Experience of joint partnership working and service development. Previous experience in the clinical specialty.
