We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join our vibrant primary school community in Sheffield. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and success of our students. GSL Education is in search of a HLTA to fill a post at one of our primary schools in Sheffield.The role of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in a primary school is multifaceted, designed to support both the teaching staff and students in various capacities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Lead small group activities and interventions to support student progress and achievement.
  • Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, ensuring inclusive and accessible learning opportunities for all.
  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and assessment of lessons and learning materials.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative learning community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Relevant experience working in a primary educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant or HLTA.
  • A Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning activities.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
