Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist with a keen interest in mental health?

The Inpatient Pendleview Unit is a well established MH unit within the Pennine Locality and based on the same site as the Royal Blackburn a total of 87 beds included on a Male treatment ward, Female treatment ward and a Male Psychiatric Intensive Care inpatient unit at Woodview is a newly opened unit consisting of 32 beds - male treatment ward, female treatment ward & psychiatric intensive care unit.

The units are based on 'safety by design' to ensure that they can provide high quality care. The ethos of the unit is to provide therapeutic care which is empowering, person-centred and needs led, and focuses on promoting recovery and independence.

We are looking to recruit a pharmacist to join our friendly, innovative and supportive clinical pharmacy team on a fixed term contract for 12 months due to maternity leave/secondment.

Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, pro-active and patient focused clinical pharmacy service to the in-patient mental health unit. Key components of the role include:o Clinical review of prescriptions and patient-orientated medication reviewo Provision of specialist pharmaceutical advice to multi-disciplinary teamso Involvement of patients in decisions about their medicines to support adherence and improve outcomeso Opportunity to influence the development of services to improve patient care through service redesigno Participation in clinical audit and service evaluationo Supervision by senior pharmacy staffo Support with training and development as a junior pharmacy team member and support from other members of the multi-disciplinary teamo Participation in the clinical supervision programmeo Input to the development of policies and procedures and treatment guidelineso Contribute to initiatives to improve medicines safety

You will have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical will provide a supportive environment to enable you to increase your knowledge in mental health via a wide range of external and in house training platforms.
