About therole

BYD is currently seeking aHGV/PSV Technicianwho reports directlyto the Aftersales Manager. This exciting opportunity has becomeavailable due to the successful growth of the company. The Engineerwill support and repair the BYD vehicles roadside or at thecustomer premises.

Engineersrequired for the belowregions:

  • Greater LondonArea
  • Midlands Area(Birmingham/Coventry)
  • ScotlandArea
  • Northern IrelandArea

Main Tasks andresponsibilities:

  • Professionalfocused approach to customers with the aim to please at alltimes
  • UK drivers licencerequired
  • Able to support BYD vehicles at thecustomer premises
  • Background knowledge ofcommercial/public service vehicles
  • Able to workflexible hours of travel
  • Outlook to repair BYDvehicles to the highest possiblestandards
  • Diagnosing electrical defects andcomponent working high voltage
  • The ability tocarry out and diagnosis mechanical repairs whenrequired
  • Good understanding of health andsafety in the workplace
  • Any other reasonableduties

Ideal candidateprofile:

  • Must have anelectrical mechanical or automotive engineering or relatedqualification
  • Excellent English written andverbal communication skills
  • Excellent timemanagement and organisation skills requiring minimumsupervision
  • At least 3 years experience ofautomotive industry
  • Good understanding of UKvehicle legislation for M3 categoryvehicles
  • Understanding of FMEA and hazardanalysis procedures
  • Computer knowledge andefficiency including MS Office
  • Has righttoworkin theUK
