Job Title

Pensions and Benefits Manager

Department

Human Resources-BG-UK

Overview of Department

The Human Resources department provides support and advice to managers and staff on HR and Development matters. Some of our key focus areas include recruiting staff, providing support for team and personal training and development, anticipating future resource needs of the organisation and ensuring that our reward and benefits packages are competitive.

Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Head of Reward & HR Technology, this role will provide high quality, business focused advice and support to the firm on the management and service delivery of our pension and benefit arrangements. Candidates from a broader reward background will also be able to use their previous expertise to contribute to our overall approach to reward, but this is not essential.

Responsibilities

Liaise with key stakeholders and provide guidance, advice and expertise on a range of remuneration matters.

Provide guidance to the Remuneration Committee and DC Pensions Governance Committee on the firm’s DC pension arrangement and pension support for members.

Work closely with the Chair of the DC Pensions Governance Committee to drive the agenda.

Liaise with third party providers, ensuring regulatory and statutory requirements are met and services are in line with best practice.

Provide education and guidance on pension benefits to members of staff and coordinate with third party providers to ensure member support throughout lifecycle of pension arrangement.

Maintain and continuously evolve the firm’s financial wellbeing programme, ensuring a high level of service from third party providers and an increased level of staff engagement on financial wellbeing.

Provide guidance to the Remuneration Committee and senior management on remuneration issues, supporting the development of future practice and enhancements.

Provide guidance and advice on relevant regulations and governance best practice.

Seek out and drive areas for improvement, new initiatives, and options for enhancing both our employee experience and ability to attract and retain key talent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in our approach to pension and benefits.

Maintain awareness of all relevant reward information and global market trends to ensure the provision of accurate and up-to-date information and recommendations.

Use relevant analysis to continuously improve our approach to pension and benefits, with a focus on understanding and insight. Prepare reports and statistics for all appropriate boards and committees as required.

Collaborate with the wider HR Department to proactively influence and support the delivery of the reward agenda, proactively engaging with colleagues across the function in the spirit of providing an excellent employee experience and seeking to continuously improve.

Manage allocated projects as required.

The type of candidate we are looking for

You will have a solid understanding of the pensions landscape in the UK with extensive experience of liaising with external providers to ensure our regulatory and statutory requirements are met. Alongside this, you will be able to demonstrate a commercial mindset that will support the ongoing evolution of our benefits package. Experience of managing a global approach to pensions and benefits, as well as a broader background in reward would be advantageous but is not essential.

A seasoned communicator, you are skilled at tailoring your approach depending on your audience and possess solid written and verbal communication abilities. As someone with deep technical expertise in pensions and benefits, you will build trust and credibility with internal stakeholders and will be responsible for providing data, insight and updates to various groups and committees as required. You have the ability to work independently to deliver both BAU and project work, but you are also willing to support wider team and department goals.
