We are a fast-growing specialist in connecting businesses to the electricity grid at scale. We are buzzing with opportunity and very much part of the shift to net zero.

 

We are looking for a team player with the relevant industry experience, and someone who is eventually looking to progress into a leadership role.  This role will involve UK travel to the sites on which we work, with overnight stays where sites are outside of a reasonable travelling distance.

 

The candidate will be report to the Electrical Operations Manager and will work across DNO/INDNO networks across the UK.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Carrying out jointing installation and repairs on HV & LV cable networks
  • Work on systems to ensure continuity of supply to customers during new systems installation or existing systems modernization
  • Responsible for all aspects of safety, health and environmental relevant to this role
  • Perform risk assessments and maintain safe working practices
  • Test and switch on LV and HV networks and understanding the results of tests and acting
  •  LV and HV cable jointing up to and including 33kV
  •  Use appropriate IT equipment including TDR, LV Faults sniffer and FFE equipment
  • Oversee Jointers Mate and training of Apprentices
  • Any other relevant jointing responsibilities


Skills and Qualifications


  • Full clean driving license (up to 3.5T only)
  • City and Guilds 232
  • Evidence of training such as CIS card
  • UKPN Substation entry, LV and HV competencies desirable
  • Ability to problem solve in a practical way
  • Evidence of formal cable jointing training
