Salary Scale: £83.33 - £90.00 per day

GSL Education Lincoln is seeking a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a progressive, inclusive primary school. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient, and eager to create a positive learning environment that promotes the personal development and well-being of students.

Job Summary: The successful Primary SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with special educational needs to achieve their learning goals. This will include assisting the teacher in delivering tailored lessons and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEN.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised education plans
  • Implement and follow individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist the class teacher in preparing resources and materials for SEN students.
  • Support students in developing their social and emotional skills.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a safe learning environment.

Required Qualifications for a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience as a Care Worker, Support Worker, or within an SEN setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting SEN students.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
