Nuffield Health Cambridge HSSU Hub | Sterile Services Unit | Permanent | Full Time
£23,887.50 per annum
37.5 hours per week - plus 1 Saturday per month in a split shift as overtime
Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to our local hospital network. If you have a full driving license with a C1 entitlement which allows you to drive rigid vehicles up to 7.5 tons Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) and hold a digital tachograph card, you could enjoy the benefits of joining the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity.
A full Driver Qualification card (CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is advantageous but full training is available.
As a Driver on our Cambridge HSSU Hub team, you’re comfortable with manual handling and happy to move transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250kg. As well as a basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation, you ideally hold a driver digital tachograph card. You’ll be a great ambassador for our unit and our customers’ first point of contact.
As a Driver, you will:
Collect and make deliveries by van or car to customers, driving 5.2T vehicles.
Receive and check deliveries of medical devices from customers.
Help keep equipment in good working order and report any faults.
Keep a clean, tidy work environment and identify stock issues as they arise.
Maintain accurate tachograph records and documentation.
Be flexible with your working hours (shifts operate between 2am and 9pm, Monday to Friday with varying times on Saturdays).
