Job summary

The CNS is a senior nursing role which allows the practitioner to effectively support and manage those attending clinics for sexual health screening and advice, address their health concerns and work with the MDT to ensure partner notification is completed.

The nurse will use advanced and specialist skills to independently manage unselected people attending clinic, with a focus on targeting those most at risk - young people, men who have sex with men and other hard to reach communities.

The role may cover both hospital and community based work. STI screening and the provision of contraceptive advice and treatment are a key aspect of the team's role and function.
