The Role

The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist, whilst managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge.

The post holder will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process increasing the focus on health promotion and self management.

The post holder will provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers within and out with the service.

The post holder will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence based practice and quality assurance in service area in conjunction with the care group lead.

The post holder will implement research, audit and to develop a service that responds to national initiatives policies and clinical governance.

What we'll need you to bring

Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.  Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills Working knowledge of basic information technology

It would be great if you also have

Masters degree in specialist area Member of relevant specialist interest group Member of CSP Multi disciplinary work experience Research and audit experience Supervision skills

Fixed Term or Secondment for 6 Months

Full time or Part Time

If this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
