Role responsibilities


We have an exciting opportunity to join our North Stations team as a Station Environmental Manager.


As a Station Environmental Manager, you will lead by example, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer service, whilst providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all of our customers.


This role will manage the Station Environment Operatives across the network, use technology to drive innovation and efficiencies, which support and enhance the customer journey, to drive a truly exceptional environment, one in which we are all proud to work.

Provide a visible, engaging, leadership presence in order to create a highly motivated, customer & safety-focused team, while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout our stations. Proactively manage all Station Environmental Operatives in their area of responsibility, ensuring all facilities are safe, functional, and consistently presented to the highest standard. Responsible for setting team goals, prioritising tasks, allocating resources and establishing timelines to efficiently achieve the Customer Operations Team objectives. Managing and maintaining the SEO competencies. Providing training and coaching to individuals so that their performance is safe, efficient, and aligned with TFW values and objectives. Support periodic fire precautions visits, station inspections, workplace H&S inspections when required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and adapt to changing circumstances. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to upholding safety standards and adhering to company policies and procedures. Basic knowledge of railway systems, routes, and safety procedures

You must be flexible to cover shifts across 7 days per week (days/evenings/nights). You will also be required to cover on call duties.

Welsh Language Skills


The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
