Want to become an emergency medical technician apprentice? Our emergency medical technician apprentice (EMTA) vacancies within our emergency service will be opening next month. Are you as prepared as you can be if you are thinking about applying for the role?If not, we are hosting some support sessions at the start of next month which will walk you through the EMTA role and allow you to ask any questions you may have about the job.We appreciate the prospect of working through an application process can be quite daunting for any job and we are aware from feedback that these sessions are helpful to those who join them.If you want an extremely fulfilling job where you can make a real difference in people’s lives; if you want a job that offers variety and challenge, but with amazing personal rewards – this is the job for you.The following sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams;Tuesday 2 July – style="font-size: 12pt;"> Thursday 4 July – style="font-size: 12pt;"> Tuesday 9 July – style="font-size: 12pt;"> Thursday 11 July – style="font-size: 12pt;"> As an EMTA, you’ll work closely with paramedics responding to 999 emergencies to help give our patients high-quality and effective pre-hospital clinical care. You’ll also give care, reassurance and support to our patients and their relatives and you’ll undertake inter-hospital transfers and urgent hospital admissions. You’ll need to be able to select and apply your skills, training and equipment safely to achieve the best possible outcome for your patients.This apprenticeship comprises classroom training, competency development within the practice setting, and a practice period of consolidation, which leads to an overall programme length of approximately 15 months. (This may be extended to 18 months based on individual learner requirements
