A highly reputable and academically focused secondary school in Slough is inviting applications for the position of a Mathematics Teacher, set to commence in September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics education to students aged 11-16, preparing them for GCSE examinations and fostering a deeper appreciation for the subject. The role demands a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping every student achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the school rules and disciplinary systems.
  • Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings.
  • Continuously update all necessary records accurately, as required by the school.

Requirements:

  • A recognized teaching qualification in Mathematics (PGCE, BEd, or equivalent).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or eligibility to obtain QTS.
  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics at secondary school level, including preparing students for GCSE.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and other staff members.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a proactive approach to learning new pedagogical skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
