Job summary

Band 6 Music Therapist - Stroke Rehabilitation DBTH.

**2 year fixed term**

This is a truly unique role developed to deliver music therapy to Doncaster and Bassetlaw patients receiving rehabilitation following stroke.

The successful applicant will be pioneering the addition of Music Therapy to the current high functioning MDT working cross the stroke pathway in Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust (DBTH).

The successful applicant will deliver and evaluate specialist Music therapy interventions for inpatient stroke rehabilitation patients and in turn support a future business case for music therapy to become an integral component of the Doncaster stroke pathway.

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Music therapist with a 'can-do' attitude and a 'drive' to develop service for stroke patients at DBTH.

Main duties of the job

To provide music therapy for adults admitted for inpatient stroke rehabilitation at The Fred and Ann Green Rehabilitation Centre, part of Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS foundation trust. To assess clients / patients - to plan and implement Music Therapy on an individual and a group basis. To take part in the development and implementation of evidence-based practice for Music Therapy at The Fred and Ann Green Rehabilitation centre. To support in the planning, development, and evaluation of the music therapy pilot service to inform a sustainable, long term business case across the Doncaster Stroke pathway.

Experience in the delivery of music therapy assessments and interventions within the field of inpatient rehabilitation Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team Experience of audit and research

Desirable

Working in the NHS, ideally bed based environment

Qualifications / Training / Eligibility

Essential

Postgraduate Diploma/ in Music Psychotherapy HCPC registration

Desirable

Membership of the British Association of Music Therapists
