Richard House Childrens Hospice, based in East London, provides palliative care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across London. From the moment a child is diagnosed with a life-limiting, life-threatening or complex health condition everything changes. About us
Richard House was Londons first childrens hospice. It was founded by our Life-President Anthea Hare, who was inspired by both her experience as a Paediatric Nurse and helping her parents to look after her severely autistic brother. Role overview
Are you looking to provide holistic, family-centred, quality care? Are you an RNC or RNA/RNLD with paediatric experience looking to work on a one to one care basis and build your experience in palliative and end of life care? We are recruiting for a Band 5 Nurse to be part of our Outreach (Hospice at Home) team.
This is a wonderful opportunity to deliver care to a range of children and young people with a variety of complex health conditions. As well as providing clinical care, you will also develop play and recreational activities and participate in outings to provide appropriate stimulation to the children in your care.
We will support you in your learning and development and there is the potential to develop your clinical skills in areas such as tracheostomy care, long-term ventilation and Hickmann line care.
Were looking for someone who is empathetic and resilient, can work under pressure, and can communicate sensitively with our families and colleagues. The ability to work with families from a variety of different cultural backgrounds is essential.
Youll be a good-team player and able to be flexible in your approach to work. Youll have desirable clinical skills in enteral feeding and seizure management and IV administration. Youll also be computer literate with good written English and a keen eye for detail.
Based in the multi-cultural borough of Newham, we operate a vital 24/7 service. Shifts are hours across weekdays and weekends. We require applicants to be available to work weekday shifts as well as weeknights, weekends and bank holidays.
