Pertemps have a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join a dynamic Payroll Department within a leading head office retailer, in Plymouth UK.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Administrator to play a crucial role in our clients dedicated team. This is a full time temporary to permanent position, based in Derriford, offering a competitive salary.

The Person: We are looking for an individual with prior experience in a dedicated payroll team, ready to take on the challenges of a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess up-to-date knowledge of payroll systems, advanced Excel skills, and a comprehensive understanding of workplace pensions and Real Time Information (RTI). Experience with Zellis Resource Link payroll software and UKG time and attendance packages will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities: As a Payroll Administrator, you will:
  • Manage workplace pensions for three companies within the group.
  • Act as a senior member of the payroll team, assisting in the 4-weekly pay run.
  • Complete general administrative tasks related to payroll functions.
  • Ensure compliance with pension auto-enrolment policies and procedures, including salary sacrifice, payment thresholds, and pension regulations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Stat payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, Tax, NI).
  • Handle store queries related to payslips with excellent communication skills.
  • Utilise strong Excel skills for data manipulation and business reporting.
  • Uphold confidentiality policies and adhere to GDPR regulations.
  • Adapt to other office duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a payroll team is essential.
  • Proficient in using payroll systems, particularly Zellis Resource Link, and UKG time and attendance packages (advantageous).
  • Thorough understanding of workplace pensions and Real Time Information (RTI).
  • Knowledge of Stat payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, Tax, NI).
  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and additional office duties.
